FREE Swimming for over 60s

Introduction

The free swimming initiative is an exciting part of a national campaign to promote swimming, general fitness, more active lifestyles and well-being. It is a part of the government's London 2012 Olympic Legacy Plan. In this area, the government's two-year initiative is being promoted by South Gloucestershire Council in partnership with South Gloucestershire Leisure the Charitable Trust who manages the leisure centres on behalf of the Council.

Who Can Access FREE Swimming?

Anyone aged 60 and over can enjoy free swimming in our pools during the published public swim sessions.

When does FREE Swimming Start?

The scheme will commence on April 1, 2009.

How Do I Get a FREE Swim?

To take up the free swim offer you must have a valid Active Access 60+ card. The card which also doubles as your library card is free and is available from any of the Leisure Centres operated by South Gloucestershire Leisure or by visiting your local library.

You can also apply online at www.activecard.co.uk
